Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of this website and the Depoto iOS app (together, the "Service"), operated by Depoto ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Depoto is under active development, and features described on this website — including barcode scanning, expiry-date notifications, low-stock alerts, and household sharing — may change, be added, or be removed over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts & Sign-In

Using the app requires an account, created by signing in with Apple or with an email address through our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Your Content

"Your Content" means the inventory items, photos, barcodes, categories, locations, and notes you add to the Service. You retain ownership of Your Content. By adding it to the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to you (and to any household members you choose to share it with) solely to operate the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to add it to the Service. Don't add content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.

5. Household Sharing

If you use the (planned) household sharing feature, Your Content in a shared inventory becomes visible to everyone you invite to that household. You are solely responsible for choosing who you invite and for any content you or others add to a shared inventory.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's operation or security
  • Access another user's account or household data without authorization
  • Use automated means to scrape, overload, or abuse the Service

7. Changes to the Service

Because Depoto is under active development, we may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service, at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that expiry-date or low-stock notifications will be delivered accurately or on time, and the Service should not be relied upon as your sole method of tracking food safety or expiration.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Depoto will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including damages related to spoiled or expired items, lost data, or missed notifications.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be determined], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (Placeholder — update once the operating entity and jurisdiction are finalized.)

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact Us

Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected].
